Well, we're still half asleep after all.

The SDP team at Holland-Bukit Timah received 39% of the votes in the constituency.

I have been feeling miserable ever since the announcement of the result.

Contrary to what my father believes, I don't think that the wealthy people voted for the PAP. From several sources, I have reasons to believe that it was the HDB 'heartlanders' who voted for the PAP out of fear and ignorance.

I have no grudges towards the people who truly think that the PAP has helped them tremendously in their lifetime.

But if they voted for them because of their history, their carrots and the biased reporting by the media, or because their grandmother said so, then well, FUCK THEM.

FUCK THEM for choosing a stingy homophobe over Dr Vincent.

What's my fear?

I fear that Dr Ang, Mr Tan Jee Say, Dr Vincent and Michelle Lee will not give the next election another go, because of the stressful experience they felt this time. What's going to happen to us then?

For this result, the people just gave Vivian and his team the right to say, "Even with such qualified opponents, we still managed to get a mandate."

They prefer covered walkways, to better lives for the underprivileged Singaporeans.
They prefer to let their own HDB flat prices remain high, to better affordability for young couples.
They prefer the familiarity of an old party bankrupt of ideas, to embracing a new party DYING to serve Singaporeans.

Fuck them and their selfish hearts.

When you voted for the PAP, you didn't just show your support for Dr Vivian and his team. You are approving the PAP's policies of not helping people who can only survive on $500 a month. You are agreeing to have your CPF withdrawal age extended by 5 more years. You are accepting the increase of GST to 10%. So what if Tharman Shanmugaratnam said that it wouldn't be increased for the next 5 years at least? Don't be surprised if they introduce new taxes! For the $1 you save, they will take $10 from you.

It's too late. Too late for me to do anymore awareness campaigning. I did all I could.

My heart just aches everytime I imagine the SDP 'A' team sitting in Parliament.

Also, Mr Chiam See Tong.

Sad day.

  1. Holland-Bukit Timah was really the most disappointing result to me of all... Not only was it such a huge lost, but to the devil reincarnated...
